Q. Why should I sell my EV?
There could be a variety of reasons: upgrading to a newer model, financial reasons, or simply not needing the vehicle anymore. Whatever your motivations, Tangent EV ensures that you get the best value for your scooter
Q. How do I determine the value of my EV?
The value is typically based on factors like the vehicle's age, mileage, battery health, condition, and current market demand for pre-owned EVs. Through its proprietary assessment model, TangentEV ensures that your battery is valued correctly. If you have taken good care of your vehicle, you will be rewarded with a bonus on your EV sale.
Q. Exp[ain in detail what is battery bonus given by TangentEV?
As part of the purchase of your EV, TangentEV does a detailed assessment of the vehicle particularly the battery of the EV is scrutinised closely (since battery is the major component of the EV). This requires a check on the scooter at our facilities. Before we take the scooter or bike from you, we agree on a price, based on the initial inspection of the vehicle. The settlement for this price is done instantly. Post the pick up of the vehicle, we do a more detailed inspection of the battery and give you a bonus amount based on the actual condition of the battery. This can go up to ₹6,000/- in case of batteries which are well maintained.
Q. What documents do I need to sell my EV?
You'll generally need the RC of the vehicle, proof of insurance, and your identification document. If you have the service and maintenance records, it can help with the valuation of the vehicle. If the scooter/ bike still has a warranty, that might also be valuable for the buyer. However, with TangentEV you can also extend this warranty or get warranty on a vehicle where the OEM warranty has expired
Q. Can I still sell my EV if it has a loan balance?
Yes, but you will need to settle the loan balance before completing the sale. This involves paying off the loan and transferring the title/ getting an NOC from the financier and removal of the hypothecation.
Q. Should I repair or service my EV before selling it?
If there are minor repairs needed, it can increase the value of the vehicle. However, be careful not to overspend on repairs that might not yield a good return. It's often a good idea to get the vehicle detailed and ensure it’s in good cosmetic condition. Accessories typically don't fetch any great value.
Q. Is it necessary to disclose any accidents or damages?
Yes, it's important to be transparent about the EV's history. Disclosing accidents or damages builds trust with potential buyers and helps avoid legal issues later on.
Q. How will the payment be made to me when selling my EV?
All settlement happens instantaneously before we take the vehicle. Only the battery bonus will be paid later within 5 working days from the sale of the vehicle.
Q. What if I don’t have the original EV charger? Can I still sell it?
Yes, you can still sell the EV. However it may reduce the overall price since buyers would need to purchase charging equipment separately. Make sure to disclose this upfront.
Q. What about the ownership change? Changes to the companion app? What do I need to do?
Do not worry, we at Tangent EV take care of everything. All you need to do is sign the RTO forms and provide consent for transfer of ownership. The paperwork is designed to keep you protected from any hassles and to ensure that buyer of your EV has a smooth experience. In case of connected vehicles, which have a companion app, we would need you to transfer the app access to us.
